Information
This is the largest Natural Park in the Basque Country, located just 20 minutes from Elai etxea. It has more than 2000 hectares of deciduous woodland, mainly oak and beech. The park contains a number of magical settings and is the origin of hundreds of legends. This is the habitat of the black woodpecker, the lesser spotted woodpecker and the marsh tit, among other species.
At its centre lies Mount Gorbeia, the highest mountain shared by the provinces of Bizkaia and Alava.
